on toothbrushes and oxytocin..
There's a new toothbrush in my cup by the sink. It makes me a bit uneasy, this toothbrush, and I'm not sure I can say why. It might have been the speed with which it appeared, after six weeks it was suddenly there, not asking for permission. No, this toothbrush doesn't make apologies for its presence. It seems to feel right at home, next to mine, and I suppose that's a good thing.. An hour or so after the toothbrush had already taken up residence in my cup, he asks me if I mind. No, I don't mind, I say. How do you tell someone that their toothbrush isn't welcome, anyway? Answer: You don't. I tell myself the toothbrush is a good thing. No one
The dancers are putting on a freak show beautiful women carrying midgets on their arms, swirling around the hall at nauseating speed, sweeping the floor with the finest silk this side of the Tigris. When was the last time you felt the exquisite pain of love? the Countess asks, bored by the dancers and the feathers in their hair, bored by the midgets even who, as she pointed out, look like children to her and whats special about that? She was 12 and I was 17, I answer soberly. Oh then you know nothing about love! the countess cries bemused. She has been lusting after me for a while
der traum vom fliegen
ist wie der traum von freiheit:
der mensch kann ihm näherkommen
durch fallschirme und flugzeug
aber er kann ihn nicht leben.
der traum von freiheit
ist wie der traum vom fliegen:
der mensch kann ihm näherkommen
durch drogen und demokratie
aber er kann ihn nicht leben.
denn wollte der mensch fliegen
so müsste er flügel haben
doch dann wäre er kein mensch.
und wollter der mensch freiheit
so müsste er allein sein
doch dann wäre er kein mensch.
